The top right of every screen has two buttons next to the company switcher: the help menu (?) and the notification bell. The bell collects compliance reminders and system messages for the company you're in. The help menu is the quickest way to reach SmartLedger support.
Check your notifications
A red number on the bell shows how many notifications are unread.
- Click the bell to open the Notifications panel.
- Click a notification to go to the screen it's about. It's marked as read.
Each notification shows its category (COMPLIANCE, SYSTEM or SUPPORT) and when it arrived. Click Dismiss to clear one from the list, or Mark all read at the top. To see everything, click Open Notification Center at the bottom.
Use the notification center
The Notification center lists every notification for the selected company.
- Use the All, Unread, Compliance and System tabs to filter the list. Each tab shows a count.
- Type in Search notifications and press Enter to search.
- Tick Show dismissed to bring back notifications you've dismissed.
- In a row, click View to read the full message, Mark as read, or Dismiss.
View opens Notification Details with the message, its priority and any details. If the notification relates to a record, a button there takes you to it. Mark all read at the top clears every unread notification.
Choose how you're notified
In the notification center, click Preferences.
Turn on or off the channels you want:
In app bell and notification center, Email Alerts, SMS and Slack. SMS needs a phone number in your profile. Slack needs a Plus, Pro or Max plan: click Connect to Slack, then pick the channel for alerts.
Under Alerts Category, turn on or off Compliances (GST, e-invoice, e-way bill, TDS), System (team, billing, product updates) and Support Services.
Changes save as soon as you flip a switch.
Get help
Click ? (Help & support) in the top bar. The Get help menu offers:
- Help centre — opens these guides in a new tab.
- WhatsApp support — opens a WhatsApp chat with the SmartLedger.AI support team (+91 72048 03634).
- Raise a ticket — opens Submit a Support Ticket.
- Or email support@smartledger.ai — opens your email app.
WhatsApp support
The chat opens with a message already typed in. It greets the support team and lists your account details: your Company Name, Company ID, Username and Email. Add a line about your problem before you send it, so the team can help straight away without asking which account you're on.
Raise a ticket
Your Name and Email are filled in. Choose a Type of request, such as Technical issue or Billing, add an optional Subject, describe the issue under Message and click Submit request. The team replies by email within 1–2 business days.
Tips
- If you turn off In app bell and notification center, or a category, you won't get those alerts by email, SMS or Slack either.
- Notifications and preferences belong to the company you're working in. Switch company to see another company's notifications or change its preferences.
