Sales → Clients lists your clients, with a summary of your sales to them above the list. From here you can find a client quickly, export the list, and act on one client or many at once.
The date filter
The date filter at the top of the page sets the period for everything on it: the Clients, Invoices, Amount and GST cards, the chart, and the list itself. The list and its search only show clients created in that period. If a client you expect is missing, set the filter to All Time.
The chart switches between Clients vs Invoices and Clients vs Amount.
Find a client
- Type at least three characters in Search through all your clients.
- Click a column heading to sort by it.
- Use Manage columns to show or hide columns such as Invoice Key, Created At and Updated At.
Actions on one client
Open the actions menu at the end of a client's row:
- Edit — opens the client form.
- Preview — opens the client's page.
- Set as Inactive or Set as Active — inactive clients are greyed out in the list and hidden from new documents.
- Delete — asks you to confirm first.
Export the list
Click the download button above the list and choose Download as CSV or Download as XLSX. If your plan doesn't include export, you'll see an upgrade prompt instead.
Delete several clients at once
- Tick the box next to each client. Tick the box in the header to select the whole page.
- To go beyond the current page, click Select all N Clients in the bar that appears, where N is the number of matching clients.
- Click Delete selected.
- Read the confirmation, then click Yes, delete N clients to go ahead.
The confirmation lists what goes with the clients: their linked sales invoices, quotes, sales orders, credit notes and projects. Purchase invoices tagged to the clients are unlinked but kept. Click Clear in the bar to drop the selection instead.
Only active clients can be ticked, and you need permission to delete clients. A large selection runs in the background, and a progress bar shows how many clients have been deleted so far.
What happens next
- Deleted clients move to Deleted Items in Settings, where you can restore them.
- The cards and chart update to match the list.
Importing clients
The Clients screen has no import of its own. If you're moving from Zoho Books, the Zoho Books import in Smart Integrations brings your clients across along with your vendors and items. To add clients one at a time, click + New Client.
