Three inventory reports answer what you have, what moved and what it is worth. They cover items that track stock; services and items set to Don't track aren't listed.
Open a report
- Click Reports in the sidebar and choose Inventory.
- Pick Stock Summary, Stock Movement or Inventory Valuation.
- Choose the period with the date picker. It starts on This Financial Year.
Click an item's name in any report to open it in Inventory.
Stock Summary
How much of each item do you have, and what is it worth? The report shows the quantity on hand and its value as at the end of the period, or today if the period hasn't ended. Value is quantity × purchase rate. Use it for physical stock checks, reorder planning and your closing stock figure.
- Category and Item — narrow the list.
- Show — All items, Non-zero only, Below reorder, Out of stock or Negative stock.
The cards at the top count Stocked Items, Stock Value, Below Reorder, Out of Stock and Negative Stock. Negative stock means more went out than came in, for example a sale recorded before the purchase that brought the stock in.
Stock Movement
What came in and went out, and when? This is your inventory ledger: every stock in and stock out in date order, with the item's balance after each one.
- Type — Opening stock, Purchase, Sale, Reversal, Adjustment or SmartUploads.
- Item and Category — narrow the list.
Click a voucher number to open its purchase or sales invoice. A reversal is stock given back when an invoice is edited, deleted or moved back to draft. The balance counts the item's whole history, so it stays right whatever you filter. The cards total the Inward Qty, Outward Qty, Adjustments, Net Movement and Transactions for the period.
Inventory Valuation
What is your closing stock worth for the books? The report values stock as at the end of the period two ways, side by side: FIFO (what's left is the stock bought last) and weighted average cost (WAC). Use it to see the effect on profit before year-end closing.
- Method — Both FIFO & WAC, FIFO only or Weighted average.
- Item and Category — narrow the list.
- Include zero-qty items — untick to hide items with nothing on hand.
Stock that came in on a purchase invoice is costed at what the bill paid, before GST and after discounts. Opening stock, adjustments and SmartUploads stock have no bill behind them, so they are costed at the item's purchase rate. The FIFO vs WAC card shows the difference between the two values.
Export a report
- Set the filters you want.
- Click the export icon next to the search box.
- Choose Download as CSV or Export As PDF.
The file follows your filters. An Inventory Valuation export uses the method you picked.
