The Cash Flow Statement explains how your cash and bank balance changed in a period. It splits the movement into operating, investing and financing activities and reconciles opening cash to closing cash.

              Open the statement

              1. Click Reports in the sidebar.
              2. Choose Financial, then Cash Flow Statement.

              Choose the period

The statement opens on This Financial Year. Click the date picker in the filter bar and choose another period, or Custom Date to set your own range and click Apply. The figures reload straight away.

              Read the statement

The cards at the top show Opening Cash, the net cash from Operating, Investing and Financing activities, and Closing Cash.

The table has three sections, each listing the accounts that moved and ending in a total line such as Net Cash from Operating Activities:

              • Cash flow from operating activities — income and expenses, receivables, payables, stock, and other current assets and liabilities.
              • Cash flow from investing activities — fixed, intangible, long-term and other assets.
              • Cash flow from financing activities — capital and equity, long-term and other liabilities, and credit cards.

For each account you see Inflow (₹), Outflow (₹) and Net (₹). The Summary at the end shows Net Change in Cash, Opening Cash Balance and Closing Cash Balance. Opening cash plus the net change always equals closing cash.

The statement uses the indirect method. Cash means your cash, bank and payment clearing accounts, and every other account's movement in the period is shown as cash in or out. That includes non-cash entries such as accruals.

              Compare with another period

              1. Click Compare and choose Custom period.
              2. In the date picker that appears, choose the period to compare with.

The table adds Prev Net (₹) and Change (₹) columns, and each card shows the change. Choose No comparison to remove it.

              Search, columns and export

              • Type in the search box to narrow the account lines. Section totals and opening and closing cash stay the same.
              • Click the columns icon (Manage columns) to hide or show columns. Reset brings them all back.
              • Click the export icon and choose Download as CSV or Export As PDF. The file follows your period, comparison and search.

              Tips

              • For the statutory format, open Cash Flow (AS 3) under Indian Compliances in the Financial reports list.
