              Browse all Settings →

Settings → General is where you keep your own profile, your company's details and the app's preferences up to date. It has three tabs: My Profile, Company Profile and Default & App Preferences.

To open Settings, click the gear icon next to your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, or open your profile menu and choose Account Settings. Settings always opens on General.

              Update your own profile

              1. Open the My Profile tab.
              2. To change your photo, click the pencil on your picture and choose an image.
              3. Edit Full Name, Phone Number and Position.
              4. Click Save.

Your sign-in email is shown here but can't be changed, because it is how you log in.

              Update the company profile

              1. Open the Company Profile tab.

              2. Enter the company's 15-character GSTIN in Company GSTIN and click Fetch.

SmartLedger looks the GSTIN up and fills in the company name, PAN, address and state from the GST record. It only fills fields the record has, so check the rest yourself. You can also skip this and type everything by hand.

              3. Check or complete the other fields.

              4. Click Save.

Save stays greyed out until you change something. Cancel takes you back to the dashboard without saving.

These fields are easy to get wrong:

              • Company Name, Company Primary Phone, Company Email Address, Address Line 1, City, State, Country and Postal Code are required.
              • Company GSTIN — optional. It must be 15 characters, capital letters and digits only.
              • PAN — optional. Use the format ABCDE1234F.
              • Company Email Address — the company's official email, where invoices and quotes for this company are sent.
              • Postal Code — 5 or 6 digits.
              • Logo — drag an image onto the box or click or browse for files. PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 5 MB. Use at least 400 × 400 pixels so it prints clearly.

Quotes use this company logo unless you add a separate one under Settings → Quotes. Invoices have their own logo under Settings → Invoices.

              Set app preferences

              1. Open the Default & App Preferences tab.
              2. Choose the App Currency: Indian Rupees (INR), UAE Dirham (AED) or US Dollars (USD).
              3. Click Save.

App Currency is the base currency the whole app works in. App Region (India), App Language (English) and Date & Time Format (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss) each have a single option at the moment.

              Tips

              • Each company has its own profile. Switch to the right company before you edit, see Switching between companies.
              • If the GSTIN lookup fills something wrong, correct the field before you click Save.
