              • Using the compliance calendar
              Browse all Compliance Calendar →

The compliance calendar puts statutory due dates and your team's compliance tasks in one place, so nothing slips. It reminds you what is due and links to the right government portal. It doesn't file returns itself. To file GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B from SmartLedger, use GST → GSTR-1 or GST → GSTR-3B.

              Open the calendar

Go to GST → Compliance Calendar.

The calendar shows two kinds of items:

              • Statutory due dates for GST, TDS / TCS, Income Tax, ROC / MCA, PF / ESI and Prof. Tax. These appear automatically.
              • Tasks that you and your team create.

              Find what's due

              • Switch between Week, Month and List views. Click Today to come back to the current date, and use the arrows to move back or forward.
              • Search with the Search tasks, clients, owners… box.
              • The strip at the top counts Overdue, Due soon (due in the next three days), Upcoming and completed items. Click a count to show only those items, and click it again to clear the filter.
              • In the left panel, use My calendars to show or hide each category, and Team to see one person's tasks.
              • Click a date in the small calendar on the left to see everything due that day.

              Add a task

Company admins and owners can add tasks.

              1. Click New Task. You can also click a day and choose Schedule a task.
              2. Choose a Task Type, such as GST · GSTR-1 or TDS Return · 26Q.
              3. Optionally enter a Task Name, for example "File GSTR-1 for March".
              4. Set the Priority: Low, Medium, High or Critical.
              5. Choose the Client / Vendor the task relates to.
              6. Set the Due Date.
              7. Choose who it is Assigned To.
              8. Add an Amount (optional) and any Notes.
              9. Click Save Task.

Task Type, Client / Vendor, Due Date and Assigned To are required.

              Open an item

Click any item on the calendar to open its details. You see the Due Date, Period, Category, who it is assigned to and any Notes. Where available, you also see the Penalty if missed and an Action checklist of the usual steps.

Click Open filing portal (or File now) to open the government portal for that category in a new tab, such as gst.gov.in for GST or the TRACES site for TDS.

              Tips

              • Statutory items are the same for every company and can't be edited. Add your own task if you want to assign one to a team member.
              • The statutory dates are the standard due dates. Check for any extension notified by the government.
              • For your GST returns, the GST Summary shows what is due based on your own filing record.
