Connect your WhatsApp number and you can use SmartLedger from your phone. Ask Smart Auditor questions about your books, or send a photo or PDF of a bill or receipt and it goes into SmartUploads to be read.
Before you start
- WhatsApp is included on the Pro plan and above. On a lower plan, the WhatsApp tile shows a PRO badge.
- You need an Indian mobile number with WhatsApp on it.
Connect your number
Open Smart Integrations from the sidebar.
Click New Integration and choose WhatsApp.
Fill in Enter Name and Enter Whatsapp Number.
Type the 10-digit number only. SmartLedger adds the +91 country code.
Tick the box agreeing to receive WhatsApp messages from SmartLedger.AI about your account and reports.
Click Request OTP.
A 6-digit code is sent to that number on WhatsApp.
Type the code under Enter WhatsApp OTP. It is checked as soon as you enter the sixth digit.
No code? Resend OTP becomes available after 40 seconds. If a code has expired, request a new one.
When you see "WhatsApp is now connected!", click Done, or + Add Another Number to verify one more.
Use SmartLedger on WhatsApp
- Reply in the WhatsApp chat that sent you the code.
- Text messages go to Smart Auditor, so you can ask questions about your books in plain words.
- Send a bill, invoice or receipt as a photo or document. It is added to SmartUploads, where you review it as usual.
- Voice notes and other message types aren't read.
- Your conversations appear under Smart Auditor → WhatsApp chats. A new chat starts after 24 hours of quiet.
- Every number you connect chats as you, with your SmartLedger login.
Manage your numbers
- Open Smart Integrations and click the WhatsApp row.
- Use the All, Connected and Pending OTP Verification tabs to find a number.
- Click + New WhatsApp Number to add another.
- Click a number marked Pending OTP Verification to enter its code.
- Click Remove next to a number, then Yes, Remove Integration, to disconnect it.
Removing WhatsApp from the Smart Integrations list asks whether to Manage Numbers one by one or Remove All Numbers. A removed number can no longer chat with Smart Auditor.
