You can email a saved sales invoice to your client without leaving SmartLedger. The client gets the invoice as a PDF. If the invoice has an e-invoice, the PDF is the signed one with the IRN and QR code.

              Before you start

              • Save the invoice first. Sending is only offered on an invoice that already exists.
              • Add an email address to the client so it fills in for you. You can also type any address when you send.

              Send the invoice

              1. Go to Sales → Sales Invoices and click the invoice.
              2. Click Edit Invoice. If the invoice already has a payment, this button reads Edit Payment.
              3. In the panel on the right, click Send Invoice.
              4. Check Recipient Email. It starts with the client's saved email. To add another address, type it and press Enter or a comma.
              5. Optionally, add addresses under CC (optional).
              6. Edit the text under Message (optional) if you want to.
              7. Click Send Invoice.

The dialog shows the invoice number, client and amount at the top so you can check you have the right one. Below the message it shows the attachment: Invoice (PDF), or Signed e-Invoice (PDF) when the invoice has an IRN.

Nothing is sent until you click Send Invoice. When the email has gone out you'll see "Invoice Sent successfully".

              What the client receives

              • An email from invoices@smartledger.ai, with your message.
              • The invoice PDF, freshly generated from the invoice as it is now.
              • Any other files attached to the invoice.

              Tips

              • Save your changes with Update Invoice before you send, so the PDF matches what you've saved.
              • If the client has an email address saved, the invoice also goes to that address.
              • When you send the same invoice again, the dialog remembers the last recipients and message.
              • To look at the PDF before sending, use the print button next to Send Invoice. It opens the PDF in a new tab. The button after it downloads the PDF.
              • Generate the e-invoice before you send if your business issues e-invoices, so the client gets the signed copy.
